Ebook ´ Slave Graves ä Thomas Hollyday

Librarian's Note this is an alternate cover edition ASIN B006C7581Dr Frank Light archaeologist is vastly annoyed He’s settled into a plush life cushy department head job at a university suave girlfriend book in the works Now he’s been ordered into the sludgy back water marshes of Maryland to fend off hordes of mosuitoes all because of an inconseuential find at a bridge construction site Maggie the outspoken state arc This one started out on a high note and in my opinion crashed and burned uickly The idea for the plot is a great one; however Thomas Hollyday didn't develop it nearly enough and threw in too much that didn't have much to do with the story First I deducted points for the poor editing Next I deducted for the contradictory descriptions of people and places Finally I deducted points for what I saw as characters not conducting the dig properly Even when writing fiction the real life facts must be true to life If those don't line up for things I know about I tend to doubt the accuracy of the other historical or procedural facts presented

Reader Slave Graves

Slave GravesHaeologist working the dig insists the shipwreck has historical significance Pastor Allingham is even vehement insisting the decaying timbers hide a rud long lost slave graveyard Real estate tycoon Jake Terment is furious that his construction project is held up by the growing concerns of Frank and his team Jake cranks up the pressure for a uick resolution Others passionately feel the archaeology project should either co Interesting novel highlighting the value of archeological findings in today's modern world The archeological sections were accurate and detailed; the story about the fight to keep the dig site from being demolished was exciting if perhaps overdramatized For me the true strength of this book was in the stories told by the characters as they worked together These stories about the African slave trade childhood memories the main character's time as a soldier in Vietnam held my attention and left me thinking Great book
