I really enjoyed this than I thought I would Memorable characters forward moving plot and a couple of twists make this a solid first entry into this cool little universeIf I had to relate it to anything it would be Douglas Adams crossed with those Space uest games from the 90's With Yahtzees own brand of dry wit sprinkled throughoutI can't plying wait to read the next one

Yahtzee Croshaw manages to though comedy tell a story that would likely fail in a serious setting Listening to him weekly on the Escapist did not prepare me for his rich world building and honest portrayal of a man adrift in a universes that he no longer recognises I highly recommend this book to sci fi fans and Yatzhee fans and stress how well his voice sells this book Do yourself a favour and purchase the audiobook

This book is very different to anything that ive read before that unlike most books its interesting and gets to the point It reads alot like a movie in that there is absolutely no filler scenes Ive read The Witcher books for example that have alot of scenes where characters just aren't doing very much and just standing around talking WSTGFF however has scenes and dialogue only where it is important to do so By the book being self standing each scene starts and ends with the reader being fulfilled and not WAITING for the next sceneOther than that of course i cant remember really where the humour was if any it was just a really solid story about a guy in a screwed up situationThe characters were few and memorable also; very good choicesA very good book by Ben having never read any of his previous one's because i thought starting later after he had had some experience would be good Gonna go back and read mogworld soon though Books like this are good for getting into reading
